Author · Educator · Advocate for Struggling Readers

A struggling reader is not a child without potential.

I help parents understand what may be happening beneath the surface when reading feels hard, and what they can do about it, so their child can become a more confident, capable, and independent reader.

About Josue

A late bloomer who now helps children read with confidence.

When I was four years old, my family moved from Puerto Rico to the United States. I spoke very little English, and I struggled in school. I was a late bloomer, but I kept growing, and reading eventually became something I loved.

Today I am an educator, instructional leader, and founder of Read & Thrive Learning. I taught at the university level in China for ten years, and I hold certifications as an Elementary Teacher, ESL Teacher, Social Studies Teacher, and Principal as Instructional Leader.

I created the RISE™ Reading Method because I have lived the struggle myself. I believe struggling readers are not incapable.
